COMMENTS: All on scroll saw - no CNC, purchased plans (not a kit).
Q: Did you really build it from scratch? A: Yes, every gear, pinion, arbor, and tooth.
Q: (1) Does it run? (2) What causes it to run? A: (1) Yes. (2) The two weights drive the Grand Wheel, which drives all the rest of the wheels. The pendulum is attached to the Escapement Wheel and the cycle swing of the pendulum regulates the gear movement to keep accurate time. Pendulum length determines clock speed.
Q: Does it keep accurate time? A: Close enough.
Q: Any mistakes? A: Yep. (Had to redo many parts – one, three times.)
Q: How heavy are the weights? A: Seven pounds, total.
Q: How much is the clock worth? A: A lot. (Doesn’t matter, it’s not for sale.)
Q: Did you name it “Hana Time”? A: Yes.
Q: Where is Hana? A: On the way to Mu’olea/Koali - (Eastern Maui)
Q: What is “Hana Time?” A: Slow and easy.
