Wooden Gear Kinetic Hummingbird

** DETAILS **

The piece represents the actual movements of a hummingbird slowed down.
The Spanish word for hummingbird is Colibri. This small little bird packs a huge punch. Hummingbirds have been known throughout history to be the means to lighten one’s load when feeling down. They symbolize joy and playfulness. They are messengers of hope and happiness and jubilation. [Just like my wife Liz!]

Q: Did you really cut all these pieces and pipes by hand? A: Yup.
Q: Did you change a lot? A: Yes, the base, the motor, the latches, the wheels, the spacers, etc. By the time I was done, I felt like I’d built 3 of them. Lots of precision rework!
Q: Did you really build this for Liz? A: Yes, it was for her birthday, 2017. I LOVE HER!
