✍🏻 Halsey'den hiç çevirmediğimi fark ettim ama çok seviyorum. "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" albümünün en sevdiğim şarkısı. Çokça çevrildiği için çevirmeyecektim ama buna artık pek takılmıyorum. Bıkmadan önce kanalda bulunsun istedim.
✍🏻 Şarkı, zihinsel sorunların bir ilişkiyi nasıl etkileyebileceği hakkında. Anlam karmaşası olabilecek bir kısmı açıklayayım: "Neden aşka bu kadar ihtiyaç duyuyorsun? Eminim ki babası yüzündendir." sözleri ve sonrası "daddy issues" diyerek aile şiddetini/sorunlarını alaya alan insanlar hakkında. Geçmişte babasıyla sorunları olan insanların sağlıklı bir ilişki kurması çok zor diye bir algı var. "Eminim ki yaramaz ve kabaydı (küçükken), eminim ki asla mutlu olamayacak." sözleri de kendisi için ve babasıyla olan geçmişiyle alakalı insanların söylediği veya belki de içindeki sabotajcının söylediği sözler. Bu yüzden içinden, partnerine tüm bu sorunlara ve kusurlara sahipken kendisiyle ilişki yaşamak istemeyeceğini söylüyor. Sevdiği şeyleri kendisi sabote ediyor ve "eminim ki onunla yatabilirdim." gibi düşüncelerle kendini avutuyor.
"...ya da bir kaleye* uçurabilirim (içindeki canavarı)": Kale, Halsey'nin "Castle" şarkısına atıfta bulunuyor. Dikkatli dinleyince bu sözden sonra Castle'ın melodisini duyabilirsiniz.
