Perch Mayhem on Lake Simcoe! 50+ Fish and a 13.75" SLAB
Ice fishing Lake Simcoe turned into absolute perch mayhem.
I headed out through brutal slush and deep snow, hauled all my gear in with my Smitty sled build, and set up in the pop up hut not knowing what the day would bring… but it didn’t take long to find a loaded school of jumbo perch.
The action was nonstop with around 50 perch caught on camera, including a thick 13.75" slab that smashed the jig early in the trip.
Between the flooded hut, 2 feet of snow and slush on the lake, and hiking back out at the end of the day, this one turned into a full mission - but the fishing made every bit of it worth it.
I also put my new FXR Ice Pro float suit to the test and gave some first impressions, along with running my Easysled.ca Smitty sled setup hauling gear across the rough conditions.
