Empowering youth to restore life and promote peace in Ubari
In collaboration with Ubari municipality and the Ministries of @Higher Education and Local Government, UNDP rehabilitated the Faculty of Literature and Science of the University of Sebha in Ubari.
The faculty building was severely damaged during the armed conflict between 2015 and 2016, resulting in its closure for seven years. Classes have finally resumed, providing an improved educational environment for 400 students and teachers from different population groups, including IDPs, Tuareg, Tebu, and Arabs. Thanks to the rehabilitation, it is not only a place of education but also a space where young people connect across ethnic groups and reintegrate into society.
