With support from UNDP and partners, Libya has helped 500K people displaced by conflict to return home. As the world grappled with historic levels of internal displacement – 71.1 M in 2022, development solutions led by governments are key to protecting #idps and building resilience.
In the city of Tawergha, after years of displacement, almost 45% of the people returned and found their homes and infrastructure badly damaged.
UNDP helped the local council provide services, create jobs, and rebuild the community for returning residents.
