Today we're joined by Gregorio Pantoja, co-author of the book Passionola/Fassionola to talk about the history of Passionola. You can check out their new book with the links below. We also take a deep dive into the history of the Hurricane which is outlined in the book with a new reference to the Hurricane that I found when when prepping for this episode. While Pat O'briens deserves the credit for making the Hurricane popular, the original Hurricane has a firm footing in exotic and tiki bars with it's first known references linking it to the style of drinks from Don the Beachcomber.

from Ron Rico 1940
1 oz lemon juice(30 ml)
1 oz lime juice (30 ml)
2 oz Passionola or passion fruit syrup (60 ml)
4 oz of a 90 proof rum(120 ml)
