How to Create a Brush Stroke Effect and Insert a Video into It | After Effects Tutorials
In this video, I want to tell you how to create a brush stroke animation in Adobe After Effects. The first step to create it, we have to create a straight line using the Pen Tool. Disable the Fill section, and enable Stroke. Set the stroke thickness.
The next step, add the Roughen Edge effect to Shape Layer 1. Change the value for the border setting. Next, I will change the value of Stretch Width or Height. for Complexity, I change the value to 7. On Layer Shape 1, Add Trim Paths. Expand the Trim Paths setting 1. Change the value of End to 0. At second 1, I will activate the Start keyframe. After that, in the next 20 frames, I change the Start value to 100 percent.
Apply the Easy Ease effect to both keyframes. If you want to insert an out trasnsition effect, you can add keyframes in the End setting. And in this project, I will set up Evolution through Expressions Editors. I will type the command Time, Asterisk, 100, semicolon. When it's like that, add photos or videos into the timeline.
Make sure the video is below Shape Layer 1. Adjust the position of the video. Make Shape Layer 1 be the Parent and Link for the video. In Track Matte mode, select Luma Matte Shape Layer 1 option. If you want to make it into two parts, you just duplicate both layers. After that, create a Precompose to make the timeline look simpler.
Set the position of the first brush display first. After that, replace the video for the second brush stroke display. Adjust the placement of the video to fit in the stroke area. Just like before, make Shape Layer 1 the Parent and link for the video. And change the Trick Matte to Luna Matte Shape Lyer 1.
In the next step, I will create a pre-compose for the second brush view. Set the position again. And the last step, I move the entrance time so that they don't coincide. And the result will be like this. Thank you for watching. And see you in another tutorial.
