Create Echo Effect on Text in After Effects
In this video, I want to show you how to add Echo effect to text in Adobe After Effects. The first step, type the text using the Type tool. In the text position, I place it in the center area at the beginning. To make it easier when placing the text, it is better to move the anchor point to the center.
Next step, activate the keyframe in the Position setting. In this tutorial, I will move the text every 30 frames. For the last position, I will copy it from the initial keyframe. I will change the movement of the text slightly. Select all keyframes, then use easy ease effect.
And next, open the Graph Editor. Select all the keyframes again. Then I will make the graph like that. To make the text move a little faster when it moves, increase all the keyframes a little. I will move the keyframes to several frames.
After animating the text, right-click on the text layer. Then Create shapes from text. Automatically, the text layer will be inactive. You can delete the layer if you don't need it. On the Outlines layer, add the Echo effect. On the stroke, I used white color.
If the fill part is deactivated, the text will look like that. But here I will keep the Fill section active and change its color to black. Change the value of Number of Echoes, so that the text looks a lot. In the Echo operator option, we can change it to Composite in back, if we want the echo effect to move from the back.
But in this tutorial, I choose Composite in front so that the echo effect moves from the front. Then in Echo Time, I made it 0.0250. And after I add a gradient background, the result will be like this. Thank you for watching. And see you in another tutorial.
