The thumb and wrist can be problematic areas. I treat a lof to tendon pain in my office ranging from acute flare ups to chronic aching tendinopathy that flares up and can last for years. I also see people who have de quervain's tenosynovitis.
In this video I go over how to release tension in those achy areas of the wrist and thumb. I teach this method to people in person because I think it's a valuable tool to have in your back pocket for flare-ups or just for maintenance of your tissues.
In this video, we get rid of tension in the more pliable tissues in the forearm "the red tissues" focusing on placing tension with the thumb and then elongating that tissue under your point of contact.
Sometimes even though symptoms are a little bit further downstream of where we're working, releasing tension in those easier-to-access "red tissues" can help relieve tension further along the chain and generally feel good!
The reports I get back from people in my office is that they get relief having a way to work on that area at home and not have to rely on office visits.
