Originally the Bengle Naga was detected as an abnormal plant in an English greenhouse full of Bhut Jolokia plants at Sea Spring Seeds in the UK and developed from there
The Peach varient is a further refinement of chilli found in the USA and is also called Bengal Naga instead of Bengle.
The plants are about 1.5 meters high and produce very large harvests of 6-7 cm long, 2-3 cm wide beautiful looking pods. The chillies start off light green to bright peach when ripen
These were part of the care package from our mate Jason Lowry up in QLD and these came with a few other varieties and thought would try them and see what they were like
Luke rocked up just as was about to try them so asked if he would like to join in, So today he joins Charlotte and I as we have a crack at the Bengal Naga Peach
What’s it Like?
How Hot is It?
Thinnish and crisp, not too seedy, Instant fruity flavour with that naga flavour coming through as well, little bit of that naga bitterness but more fruity than anything, fruity sweet wow, that flavour stays as the heat builds, my favourite naga now as not into the really naga bitterness normally get but this is amazing flavour wise
Heat hits pretty quick in the back of the throat and on the tongue as well as top palate, seemed more on the tongue, it builds and builds as youd expect a naga too until the mouth is throbbing, hurts the tongue when talk\breath, moves forward and my gums ended up hurting as well as rest of the mouth, mouth was still burning after the break so it goes for a long time as well.
Outstanding flavour and ripping heat, loved it and can\t wait till have some growing to try them again
