Санта Мария—led by the talented and sweet vocalist and keyboardist Мария Садилова, Андрей Иванов (bass guitarist), Александр Шмаков (solo guitarist) and Юрий Никитин (drums/keyboards/arrangement)—released their first and only album in 1990, and they titled it Я хочу тебя увидеть, but it was known for the shortened title of Я хочу... which is also the title they mention in the intro.
Not much else is known about this band, they recorded it on the СОЮЗ studio like we can hear in the intro. The members of the band seem to be from the Кимры city. As for the outstanding vocalist Мария Садилова, we know that she was born on July 10, 1972 in the Moscow region science town of Dubna. She graduated from a music school and a choir studio. From an early age she wrote poetry and music.
At the age of 11 she began singing in a school ensemble. Beside being the lead vocalist of this beautiful electro-pop project, she was also the vocalist for the Moscow-region bands Стоп, Эпизод, Серый Кот and others. She was the winner of many Moscow regional music competitions, and how could we expect less of her?! She's absolutely awesome.
Her first album Я хочу тебя увидеть, this one, was released in 1990, but that's not all, she also released a second album, titled Когда придешь ты, in 1999. But from 1991 to 2011, Maria took a break from her musical career—during this time she wrote songs for young performers.
Eventually, in 2012, at the Корона-рекордс studio (Moscow), Maria recorded remakes of her songs Август, Звездочка and Пусть музыка напомнит о тебе, as well as new compositions in a modern style. You can check some of them out here on YouTube —
