영화 "이터널 선샤인"은 2005년 개봉 후 리마스터링 되어 2015년에 재 개봉되었고, 짐 캐리와 케이트 윈슬렛 주연입니다.
극중 주인공인 조엘(짐캐리)은 회사 출근길에 문득 몬토크 해변가로 가게 되며 그 장소에서 클레멘타인(케이트 윈슬렛)을 만납니다.
이 둘은 사실 예전부터 연인 관계였고, 매일 익숙한 만남과 오랜 교제에 따분한 사랑을 이루다가 헤어지게 되고 클레멘타인은 조엘을 본인의 기억에서 지워버립니다. 조엘 또한 본인을 알아보지 못하는 클레멘타인에 슬퍼하며 본인도 기억을 지우려 하지만, 클레멘타인과의 추억의 장소와 사랑했던 기억들이 되살아나며 사랑의 기억을 잃어버리지 않기 위해 노력합니다. 마지막 잠재의식 속에서의 만남에서 '우리 몬타크 해변에서 다시 만나자'라고 이야기하며 깨어나고 영화는 다시 첫 장면으로 돌아와 출근길에서 회사로 향하지 않고 조엘은 해변으로 가게 됩니다.
