In this activity tamariki make nine stars that form the Matariki constellation, learn their names, and each star's significance.
For each star there is also a specific whānau adventure which appears when the star is made. For example the Matariki star itself is the guardian of the other stars in the cluster. She is a healer and when her star is shining bright and you're sick or someone you know is sick, it is a sign the person will get better. The whānau adventure for this star is to show aroha to someone you know who is having a challenging time.
