In this video, I want to show you how to create a moving light effect on text in After Effects. In this project, I have inserted a background, and typed in text using the Type Tool. In the next step, find CC Light Sweep effect. When it appears, add the effect to the Text Layer.

In the Effect Control panel, move the Center point so that the white light is not visible on the text. Activate the keyframe in the Center section. Here I will start it at the 1st second. Then at the 4th second, I will move the Center point to the right. And now the shimmering light effect can be seen moving from left to right.

To enlarge the light display, change the value in Width. You can adjust it as needed. Select both keyframes. Then add an easy ease effect. Open the Graph Editor. Then I change the graph to be like that. If the effect is still visible when before the initial keyframe, then move it first.

To enhance the glow effect part, change the value in the Sweep Intensity setting. And now I will add a Glow effect for Text. Set the value in Glow Radius. To keep it from getting too bright, I'll lower the Glow intensity value. And next, I will also decrease the Glow Threshold value.

And these are all the value settings that I have changed slightly. For the Background, I added the Effect and Contrast settings to reduce the light intensity to make it look darker. If we want to make a loop, we just need to open the expression editor. And type Loop Out without space. And the result will look like this.

Thank you for watching. And see you in another tutorial.
