Chord Melody Guitar Solo | Chill Guitar Beat | Jazz Guitar Solo
Here is an improvisation in the key of G minor. I am currently creating an EP and part of my creative process is improvising over vibey chord progressions that I turn into beats. After improvising melodic lines on the guitar, I begin to generate themes and the track begins to take shape. However, I set a limitation today to only generate chord melodies, no single note melodic lines... and those chord melodies must contain obvious, singable melodic lines within them. It's a fun challenge and you should try it.
For this track, I am simply using the chords Gmin7 to EbMaj7 (try it out or play along). I am using my Fender Stratocaster plugged direct in to my focusrite scarlett 2i2. In ableton I am using Amplitube 4 and I created a patch with the Fender Custom Shop "twin reverb" that really has a great blues/jazz hybrid going on with obvious tremelo. I finish the chain with Waves H-Comp to give it some consistency in dynamics and then send it to a sick nomad factory analog delay that melts it all away.
