The Secret Sauce
Finding the right recipe for success is not "one size fits all " The recipe for your success must be customized for your specific region, your target population needs, and your life. Wherever you live, whoever you serve, I have found some elements of nonprofit work that are always true.
1. Communicate your mission.
2. build your capacity to answer all the questions on a grant application
3. Form partnerships (make new business friends) that will benefit you and your clients.
4. Concentrate on the need of your target population. Not the needs of your organization.
5. Join a coalition or nonprofits. You cant do it by yourself.
6. The Secret Sauce: Your mission (YM) must equal your Funders Mission (FM).
7. Bonus Tip-Your nonprofit is a business with a charitable purpose. You must operate professionally and purposefully in your community. You may not have everything that larger nonprofits have but that only means that you can move lighter, leaner, and faster.
