Dagenham fire: rescue complete at London tower block
The Dagenham fire brings tower block fire safety back into the spotlight just a week before the Grenfell Tower inquiry’s final report is due to be published.
The London Fire Brigade were called at 2.44am to a fire at Spectrum Building, a mixed-use residential and commercial building, on Freshwater Road in Dagenham. 100 people were evacuated and a search and rescue operation has been completed. Four people were treated at the scene and two were taken to hospital. A major incident has been stood down.
