Crying Tiger Beef Steak
Crying Tiger Beef Steak originated from Thailand and it’s been making appearances in restaurant menus and all over the internet lately. It is surprisingly easy to whip up and packed full of umami, no wonder it is so popular!
We used sirloin but you can use any steak cuts such as flank, flat iron and we think the skirt would soak up the marinade so well too. Try it and let us know what you think!
MARINADE +
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp fresh lime juice,
2 tsp oil
1 tbsp palm sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
A dash of black pepper
350g @stockyardbeef angus sirloin steak
CRYING TIGER DIPPING SAUCE +
2 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 tbsp palm sugar
1 tsp tamarind paste
2 tsp red chilli powder / flakes)
toasted rice powder
1 shallot, finely chopped
1 bunch cilantro, chopped
1 sprig green onion, chopped
Serve with steamed glutinous rice, fragrant jasmine rice or wrap in a rice paper rolls!
