This video is about several types of thermostats; that's the correct name for them. In everyday life, almost everyone calls this part a thermostat; both names are essentially correct. First, I want to point out that if your refrigerator won't turn off, it doesn't mean the thermostat is faulty. The thermostat will only turn off the motor-compressor when the refrigerator or freezer compartment reaches the desired temperature for the thermostat to activate. I've reviewed two types of thermostats: for two-door refrigerators with a weeping defrost system and for single-door refrigerators. Below, I'll list the thermostat models that are suitable for each type of refrigeration unit.

For single-door refrigerators, meaning if the thermostat tube (bellows tube) is attached to the freezer evaporator, the following thermostats are suitable.
Tam 145 - typically found on dual-motor refrigerators from Indesit, Atlant, Stinol, and others. It turns off the freezer motor. They are also used in Indesit No Frost refrigerators.
Tam 112 - most often used in simple single-door refrigerators; it can be installed on the freezer compartment. The thing is, the TAM-112 thermostat tube length is usually no more than one and a half meters, so it's not used on two-engine refrigerators.
The K-50 is used almost everywhere.
In general, these thermostats are completely interchangeable.

Now let's talk about thermostats used in two-chamber refrigerators with a defrost system.
The TAM 133 is perhaps the most common thermostat currently available.
The K-59 is the same as the TAM 133, meaning it's a complete analogue.
The K-59 in a braided housing—for me, as a mechanic, there's no difference between the thermostats I've listed.
The ATEA 13A is a complete analogue of the K-59.

Finally, if you decide to buy this part, first of all, pay attention to the length of the thermostat tube. It's important that it's not shorter. You should also check the mounting hardware; sometimes, due to its dimensions and the location of the terminals, an alternative simply won't fit into the housing it's installed in. For example, Zanussi refrigerators use a Danfoss thermostat, but the problem is that the housing that houses the thermostat is designed in such a way that it's impossible to install a replacement thermostat. Incidentally, this problem isn't unique to Zanussi and Electrolux refrigerators. If the thermostat tube is half a meter longer, that's okay; it's perfectly acceptable.
If the motor on your unit doesn't turn on, but the light inside the refrigerator compartment is on, the thermostat is usually the culprit. By short-circuiting the contacts that connect to this component and plugging it into a power outlet, you can check for a faulty thermostat. If the motor starts, the thermostat needs to be replaced.
