So the pandemic has got me watching anime and I'm a full fledged weeb now. I grew up with the 90s dubs of Pokemon and Sailor Moon, but I never proactively got into anime until this year. AND NOW I'M LIKE OBSESSED. I haven't watched a lot (like 20+), but I've fallen down the rabbit hole and I don't think I'll ever come out. Which is fine......
So I watched Beastars back in May because a YTer that I'm subbed to reviewed it and it caught my interest. BUT I DID NOT EXPECT IT TO BE SO GOOD! No seriously. Wow! Once I got passed all the ""weird"" shit....But these two. THESE TWO CHARACTERS. I LOVE THEM! Individually and as a pairing. My sweet boy Legosi and precious girl Haru. THEY BOTH MUST BE PROTECTED. So basically their story is like Twilight meets Zootopia. Predators and prey coexist peacefully in society. Legosi and Haru go to the same school (she's older). One night Legosi attacks Haru after losing control of his predatory urge. She escapes. They have another random encounter and he becomes infatuated with her. They go through so much shit together and do eventually fall in love, but question whether they can be together because he's a carnivore and she's an herbivore.
I've been wanting to make a video with this song for a long time. I attempted a few ideas, but I trashed them. But after watching Beastars, I knew I wanted to use it for these two. They're everything I love in a ship: angst, fluff, interspecies romance (that's usually saved for one being human or they're both different supernatural creatures), star-crossed lovers, the gentle brooding guy wrestling with his demons and the independent confident girl he didn't expect to fall in love with. My bread and butter when it comes to ingredients for my ships.There is sort of a love square going on between Legosi, Haru, and 2 other characters, but LEGOSI AND HARU ARE EVERYTHING. I can't wait for Season 2. And I do want to read the manga...eventually.
So....yeah. :)
