Full-time university, homeschooling her kids, dealing with PTSD, and taking care of her dad with dementia…
Juggling all of this during the COVID lockdown.
When Ashlee first came to us, she struggled with allowing herself to rest…
because she had a mile long list of responsibilities…
But, what the SMP team and I love about her story is…
Even though she was in a rough situation, it didn’t stop her from achieving her goals.
Not even once. 👑
Since day 1, Ashlee had a positive attitude and beautiful growth mindset to learn & better herself
And because of this, she’s made leaps & bounds with having self-compassion.
Honouring herself by resting when she needs to.
Ashlee encapsulates exactly what SMP is all about:
“I can’t express how grateful I am.
“It is not easy for me to express myself or open up as we are conditioned to believe it is a weakness even though it’s not - you become almost scared to admit you're not ok…
“I don’t have many female support networks which is one of the very reasons I was excited to join SMP so that I can gain a support network who can understand to a degree some of my perspectives💕💕
“Thank you for being on this journey with me.
“It’s about learning to live with these demons everyday and accepting that they won’t ever simply go away, but it’s how I decide to face them and not let them defeat me.
“Learning to live with them because I can’t afford them to break me is not an option.”
Ashley is only one of the hundreds of amazing women in SMP…
Who faces challenges everyday…
But, still prioritizes herself no matter the circumstances.
If her story resonated with you in any way, shape or form…
I just want to remind you that we’re extending the deadline to apply for the SMP Sponsorship Program to January 31st.
So, if you missed out on the announcement back in December…
Or you got sidetracked from the festive season craziness.
