A preposition is a word that shows the relation of a noun or a pronoun to some other words in a sentence. A preposition shows logical relationships, time, location, and direction.
Here are the commonly used prepositions:

Prepositions have certain uses or functions that can be confusing at times. Here are the varied meanings and functions of some prepositions.
1. At - indicates exact time, address, or location
Examples:
We will be leaving at 7 in the morning. (time)
Let’s meet at the park. (location)
I live at 237-E Manrique Street, Sampaloc, Manila. (address)
2. In - indicates a name of a city, state, province, country, town, village, region, or continent. It also indicates day, year, or month.
Examples:
Some of my relatives are in the UK. (country)
I will be joining them there in December. (month)
3. On - indicates a name of a street, avenue, boulevard, or road. It also indicates an exact date and may refer to the surface of something.
Examples:
The deadline for submission is on July 10, 2022. (exact date)
Rest your head on my shoulder. (surface)
They live on Emerald Street. (street)
Prepositional Phrases
A prepositional phrase is the combination of a preposition and its object. The object of a preposition is a noun or a pronoun.
Examples:
