Speaker:
Dr. Philip Cardiff studied Mechanical Engineering and completed his PhD in computational biomechanics at University College Dublin. He then worked as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow working on the development of computational models within the Irish Centre for Composites Research at UCD, and within the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include Computational Mechanics, Materials Processing and Biomechanics. He now holds a post as Bekaert Lecturer of Materials Processing at the UCD. In OpenFOAM he has made a substantial contribution in advanced solid mechanics models and fluid structural interaction methods; he is the main developer of the toolbox solids4Foam.
