Speaker:
Dr Christian Windt obtained his Bachelor and master's degrees the Hamburg University of Technology, and PhD from the Maynooth University. He is now a research fellow at the Technical University of Braunschweig, where he is the coordinator of the NuliMAS project: Numerical modelling of liquefaction around marine structures. Based on OpenFOAM, Dr Windt has extensive experience in modelling ocean waves and wave-structural interactions. His research has been applied to the design and optimisation of innovative wave energy devices, which have been published in prestigious journals such as Applied Energy, Renewable Energy and Journal of Ocean Engineering and Marine Energy.
