🚙 I Crashed My Car Trying to Go Fishing (Again) | Solo Off-Grid Wilderness Adventure in Maine
What was supposed to be a peaceful solo fishing trip turned into a total disaster. For the third time, I attempt to go fishing—but spoiler alert: the third time is not the charm.
This video follows my off-grid adventure deep in the wilderness of Western Maine, where I set out to find a secret lake a neighbor told me about. But before I could even wet a line… I crashed my car on a remote logging road. With no cell service and nobody around, I had to leave my gear behind and hike the rest of the way with my loyal sidekick, my Norwegian Elkhound, Vibeke.
As if that weren’t enough, I ran into a man in the woods—cue the viral meme:
🧍♂️💬 "Would you rather run into a bear or a man in the woods?"
🐻 Me? 100% bear. Every time.
Thankfully, he turned out to be friendly… but he took my fishing spot. Determined to make the most of the day, my dog and I kept trekking, and ended up discovering an even more stunning, secluded area—complete with a beachy shoreline and even an outhouse(!).
We spent our final evening at camp soaking in the quiet serenity of the lake before heading back to reality. But the chaos didn’t end there…
🔧 Back in Boston, I discovered the crash had cracked my rear differential case—leading to a months-long car saga involving a shady mechanic (who definitely underestimated me) and a near-miss with a total scam. But I got a second opinion, and justice (and my car) prevailed.
