FAILE at BEYOND THE STREETS Shanghai
FAILE is an artistic collaboration between Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller. Since its establishment in 1999, FAILE has gained recognition for its extensive multimedia practices, exploring duality through fragmented appropriation and collage styles. While painting and printmaking remain at the core of their methods, FAILE has, over the past decade, transformed their iconic, pop culture-driven imagery into a range of materials and techniques. Encompassing wooden boxes, window trays, and more traditional mediums like canvas, printmaking, sculpture, stencils, installations, and spinning prayer wheels. FAILE's works are composed of found visual images, blurring the boundaries between ""high"" and ""low"" culture. However, recent exhibitions have emphasized audience engagement, architecture, and specific site and archive research for their artworks.
