It consists of four SCRs S1, S2, S3, S4 connected in bridge configuration
Load can be purely inductive or combination of resistance and inductance
The load current is continues or discontinues depending on the value of inductance.
When A is +ve w.r.t. B ⇒ Supply voltage waveform is Vab
When B is +ve w.r.t. A ⇒ Supply voltage waveform is Vba
When S1 & S2 is ON ⇒ S3 & S4 is OFF
When S1 & S2 is OFF ⇒ S3 & S4 is ON
