Take this scenic train ride from Clarkdale, AZ to the ghost town of Perkinsville, AZ aboard the renovated luxury cars of the Verde Canyon Scenic Railroad. The ride is about 4 hours covering about 40 miles round trip. But first, before you board the train, eat lunch at the Copper Spike Cafe and visit the museum with a number of historical relics. Once on the train enjoy the comfortable seats, large windows and snacks. The train follows the Verde River passing a number of scenic vantage points. Pass through the 734-foot tunnel and howl like the wild animals. At Perkinsville, the engines will switch places, hooking up to the caboose to make the journey back to Clarkville.
