This BRUTAL Castle Imprisoned Children...
One of the most formidable and intimidating castles in England is Lincoln Castle, and today it still has a working courthouse inside where criminals are tried and sent to prison. But inside is an incredibly Georgian and Victorian Prison which housed many criminals, from murderers to arsonist and even thieves. But it was a place where people were held before their executions which often occured on the gallows on the walls of the Castle, with thousands watching below.
But one dark part of Lincoln Castle's history is that children were held within the walls and were locked up. Some of these were accused of very serious crimes, and some were later sent on transportation to Australia for their crimes. But it was a very feared site of imprisonment.
