Rotate & Move Objects With Same Mouse Drag ie. Steer A Ship, A 3D Unity Tutorial
When you press the left mouse button, the steering wheel will be rotated around its corresponding axis and the ship will be moved in the mouse drag direction in the x-axis.
This can be used for wheel or steer rotations. If you want a 2D movement implementation, you can transform this logic to 2d movement or mouse input to touch input.
I had used this approach for a prototype so here we are.
