0:11 Hello everyone and welcome to Ngage Tech Tips. Today we’re going to be going over how to change your audio playback and recording devices in your windows computer. Now down here in the bottom corner you should see a small speaker, if you do not see this there is an up arrow right here that shows the hidden icons.
0:28 Now, as you can see mine is already right here. What we’re going to do is right click on this, open up playback devices, now this lists all the possible playback devices we have for this machine. So as you can see we have several hdmi outputs on our graphics card that we will not be using today. If you scroll down I’m using a headset, so if I want to change this over to the speakers I simply right click and set as default device.
0:57 There is also another option that is set as default communication device. Now this will allow you to set two different devices one for all of your audio, your music and everything like that, the default communication device would be like a headset and this would allow you to go ahead and have like your skype or any of your other call in features come through that headset. Ok so we’re done with that.
1:24 Ok now we’re going to come back over here to recording devices. In recording devices what we’re going to do is come down here we know it’s the headset once again, simply select this and you can do set to default. You can also right click and select set to default communication device. Again this is if you’re going to have speakers and a headset. Normally for music and still being able to take calls on. Now if you’re still not getting audio that may mean you have something muted.
1:54 Come down here to volume mixer, go ahead and open this up, and if its muted you’ll something crossed off or turned very low. Simply raise the volume on that and you’d be good to go. To swap between the different inputs you could see here, speakers would probably be the other one.
