Some reflections from my Institution Building Experiences
No institution is built by a single person. It is all a work of a number of people, some acknowledged more and some less and a few never. As Udai Pareek maintained Institution Building (IB) goes beyond management or even leadership. Leadership is contextual while IB is perpetual. In this video Prof. Rao highlights some of his work to be assessed by the the viewer and label it. He does not accept titles like Father of HRD or Founder of NHRDN and AHRD and feels Co-founder may be an appropriate way to acknowledge. Some times when co-founders are not acknowledged in websites and portals, the younger generation is denied the opportunity to learn the inspirational stories behind the starting of institutions and that begins the decline or diversion of culture and values of great institutions.
