On Monday May 26, 1973, a group of 9 friends made plans to enter a flooded sinkhole simply known as the shaft. In what’s known as one of the worst diving accidents in the country’s history, 8 divers would enter the water for a recreational dive, but only 4 of them would come out.
This is the story of one of the world's most dangerous caves. The shaft is a very unique sinkhole located under Trevor Ashby's farm. But due to how deep some of the passages can get, it turns into an extremely dangerous cave.
