this Octatrack production session focuses on using 'drones and tones' sampled from the WMD Synchrodyne and Expand, a complex eurorack synthesizer voice utilizing VCOs to clock phase-locked loops that control the cutoff frequencies of two resonant switched capacitor filters. Due to this unusual architecture the WMD Synchrodyne offers a wide variety of sounds that exist somewhere in the no-man's land between analog and digital.
