A New Era Of Spider-Man Begins

Hey guys it’s Chris and in today’s video we are talking about Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode One and Two.
Let’s get into it!
In episode one during Peter’s high school orientation, We are shown the origin story of Spider-Man in this universe. Peter arrives at Midtown High when suddenly a portal opens up. An Alien Symbiote falls out of the portal and begins to cause chaos. Doctor Strange battles the Alien Symbiote. This action sequence features numerous mystic spells and his Cloak of Leviathan. The Symbiote attacks Nico. Peter confronts the Alien Symbiote and this gives Strange enough time to restrain the Alien Symbiote and retreat. Nico appreciates his heroic act, and introduces herself to Peter. Emerging from the same inter-dimensional portal as Doctor Strange and the Alien Symbiote, this arachnid bites Peter and gives him superhuman abilities. Peter passes out and the arachnid crawls away. Peter is bitten by this arachnid because of Strange. He had a role in the creation of Spider-Man in this universe. This single action has changed Peter’s life forever. A few months later, Peter has already created his homemade suit. He is still figuring out his powers, all while trying to maintain two lives. Spider-Man saves Harry from being mugged and hit by an armored truck. Spider-Man fights the muggers and webs all three of them to a light pole. Episode One introduces a few supporting characters. Aunt May, Nico, Pearl, Lonnie, and Harry. All those characters stem from the comic books. My personal favorite is Nico. Without even having powers yet, she feels like Peter’s sidekick. She has his back no matter what. Episode One features a street level high speed chase. Spider-Man stops a van from crashing into a bus. This action sequence is referenced in Captain America Civil War.
Next episode two. Peter returns home and meets Norman Osborn. Norman offers Peter an exclusive internship at Oscorp. Peter accepts the job. Later in the episode, Peter arrives at Oscorp. He is told to report to the lab on floor seventeen. At the lab, Peter meets his fellow interns. Dr.Whittman wants to test them in a real laboratory environment. He assigns different interns to different divisions at Oscorp. Peter is finally chosen and meets Dr. Carla Connors. She works in the Energy Research Division. Peter’s intern project is to create a self-sustaining battery with Dr.Connors. Peter takes a break and hears on the news about a burning building. Peter suits up in a stairwell and swings to the fire. Butane continues to incarnate the building before being confronted by Spider-Man. Spider-Man dodges blasts of fire and after a brief fight, He kicks Butane through a window into a pet store. In the pet store, Butane continues to blast fire destructively. Spider-Man is saving various animals from the fire and each other. Spider-Man webs and swings a bag of dog food at Butane. This causes him to stumble into a fish tank. Spider-Man webs and pulls the fish tank down onto him. Spider-Man goes to make sure he is knocked out, but is startled. He slaps the villain and knocks him out. Spider-Man heads back to Oscorp. Once at Oscorp, he is told Norman wants to talk to him. Peter reports to his office and Norman knows Peter is Spider-Man. This is the beginning of Norman and Peter’s mentorship.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episode one and two is a great start to Season One. Both episodes introduce engaging characters and feature street level action sequences. Peter’s origin story is changed, but still makes a bold impact. I’m excited about what this show has in stored for Spider-Man fans. Regardless of what Spider-Man you are watching, you are in for an amazing experience.
