Mercs - arcade mission 1 music (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis)
First appearing in arcades in 1990, Mercs is the sequel to Capcom's 1985 hit shooter Commando. It was ported to the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and other home computers in 1991.
I loved playing Mercs in the arcades with my friends, so was disappointed that the Mega Drive version was only single player. Still, it made up for it by including two game modes: arcade mode and the curiously-named "original mode".
While the first game mode is more-or-less identical to the arcade version, original mode features all-new levels, the ability to switch between multiple playable characters, and shops for buying and upgrading weapons.
Also, Manami Matsumae's expanded soundtrack for the Mega Drive version is just fab, especially the track for the first mission of arcade mode.
