The Mute City track music from F-Zero on Super Nintendo. The soundtrack was composed by Yumiko Kanki and Naoto Ishida.
F-Zero is a fast-paced racing game developed by Nintendo and was one of the launch titles for the SNES/Super Famicom, releasing in 1990. Its futuristic setting was no doubt a huge influence on the Wipeout series.
I've been playing F-Zero for the first time this week and it's actually a very fun and nice-looking 2D racing game with a fab soundtrack. Shame there's no two-player mode!
The SPC file was sourced from SNESmusic.org and playback was emulated in XMPlay using the SNESamp plugin.
