Welcome to We Lift You, where we help you lift smarter and stronger every time!
Today, we’re focusing on the Reverse Single-Leg Curl on the Leg Extension Machine, a unique move to isolate your hamstrings without the traditional leg curl machine. This exercise is an excellent addition to any leg routine, building strength and definition in your hamstrings.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to performing the Reverse Single-Leg Curl on the Leg Extension Machine with precision and control.
✅ Key Technique Breakdown:
• Stand facing the leg extension machine, positioning your working leg so that your knee is below the seat pad and your ankle is just below the leg pad (you might use a step if needed). Place your non-working leg slightly behind or to the side for balance, and hold onto the machine for stability.
• Keep your core engaged and maintain a solid, upright posture throughout the movement.
• Slowly curl the pad by bending your knee and pulling it toward your glutes. Focus on contracting the hamstring and avoid using momentum for a controlled movement.
• At the top of the curl, pause briefly and squeeze your hamstring for maximum engagement.
• Lower the pad back to the starting position with control, keeping tension on the hamstring throughout and preventing the weight from dropping too quickly.
• Exhale as you curl the weight up, and inhale as you return to the starting position. Controlled breathing supports stability and muscle engagement.
