Welcome to We Lift You, where we guide you to lift smarter and safer every time.
Today, we’re diving into Bodyweight Chin-Ups, a classic compound movement that primarily targets your lats, while improving grip strength and upper body control.
✅ Step-by-Step Guide to Bodyweight Chin-Ups:
• Grip a pull-up bar with your palms facing you (underhand grip), roughly shoulder-width apart.
• Begin from a dead hang with arms fully extended, core tight, and legs either straight or slightly bent for control.
• Retract your shoulder blades slightly and engage your core before initiating the pull. Focus on leading with your lats rather than pulling only with your arms.
• Exhale as you pull your body upward, driving your elbows down and back. Keep your chest lifted toward the bar and your spine neutral.
• Pull until your chin clears the bar. Pause briefly at the top and squeeze your lats.
• Inhale as you slowly lower yourself back to the starting position, maintaining tension throughout the descent.
• Avoid swinging or using momentum, stay controlled from start to finish.
