Meet Minnie, the 9+ Month-Old Monarch Butterfly Who Decided To Stay!
Minnie the Monarch Butterfly is a very special lady! Come with us to visit several milkweed patches in full bloom! Last winter, I began an overwintering project in an attempt to save the Life of Papillon, a late-season male Monarch butterfly who was born too late in the season to join the great Eastern Monarch Migration to the mountains of Mexico. Papillon's story touched many hearts, and when I expressed sadness about him having to be alone, a very kind woman [who was also attempting to overwinter some late-season Monarchs] sent me some companions for him. Minnie was among the 8 she sent to me, and the last survivor....a very special girl! This is her story...
