After a week of stressful preparation, the day finally arrived! I am always so anxious to get it over with as soon as I know I need a procedure. Mr. Empath is such amazing support. I am so blessed to have him! :)
The hospital staff were concerned about my documenting my stay, but after we promised not to film other patients (LOL! Of course not!), they let us record. I hope this series of videos might help someone who has to have surgery and wants to know what all goes on. Obviously, everyone is different and one's experience depends on where one goes and what procedure they need.
In this video I reiterated a lot of medical crap (you have to repeat a lot of things over and over) with my anesthesiologist and pre-op nurse (total angel!); and more about my pain management and my low blood pressure concerns. I got my IV started and the Medtronic Rep came to interrogate my pacemaker for me (because my cardiologist didn't download the one I did earlier in the week from CareLink). He was able to put my pacer on an override setting to make sure it didn't stop due to interference from OR equipment (he returned after my surgery to set it back). My surgeon came to say hi before, and the OR nurse came to make sure I was scheduled for the right procedure (LOL better they ask a million times than make a mistake!). A few last-minute questions then off I went! Unfortunately I did have hypotensive complications but that seems to always happen with me in surgery. I was able to share a few minutes from PACU but they revoked video privileges. A very sedated good-bye and I went off to bed. THE END! ^_^
Special thanks to the clinicians who appear in this video! I love you guys! xoxox
Thank you for coming with me on this Journey! If you have any questions feel free to ask.
~*Much love precious ones! Be well!*~
