After a week of stressful preparation, the day finally arrived! I am always so anxious to get it over with as soon as I know I need a procedure. Mr. Empath is such amazing support. I am so blessed to have him! :)
The hospital staff were concerned about my documenting my stay, but after we promised not to film other patients (LOL! Of course not!), they let us record. I hope this series of videos might help someone who has to have surgery and wants to know what all goes on. Obviously, everyone is different and one's experience depends on where one goes and what procedure they need. In this video I dealt with more paperwork and got settled in the pre-op holding area (private rooms with nice sliding glass doors and personal thermostats! WOOP WOOP!) -- lots of idle time in there talking with Mr. Empath; met my pre-op nurse (total angel!); met with my anesthesiologist to discuss pain management and my low blood pressure concerns) and confirmed that a Medtronic rep was coming to do a pacemaker check (because my cardiologist never downloaded the remote one I did earlier in the week from CareLink! AGH!) before I would go to OR. Mr. Empath took good care of my PS bracelets and thought good thoughts for all the Members! :)
Special thanks to the clinicians who appear in this video! I love you guys! xoxox
