DIRE STRAITS Twisting By The Pool
Probably my favourite song from the vast discography of the legendary band Dire Straits but 'Twisting By The Pool' is far from typical of their output. Quite poppy in form and feel, this great track was issued in early 1983 as part of an extended play called 'extendedancEPlay'. It soared to the #2 spot here in Australia, and did one better across the ditch in New Zealand, making pole position. A #14 in their homeland of Britain, it also did good business for Dire Straits right across Europe. It made the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, but not the Pop one. It is just loads of fun and I have had that with this clip.
'Twisting By The Pool' spent a whopping 6 weeks in the #2 position here in Oz and 11 in the Top 10, making it the 14th best seller of 1983.
