Dun ah! I had a great first shooting session in my new backyard range. Hubby helped put up a temporary target and backstop to get me going. It's been almost three weeks since I last picked up my English Longbow and shot some arrows, so taking it slowly whilst stretching myself and my bow.
I wanted to share this special time with you all and to see my new backyard archery range. Archery is fun not just at club ranges. etc but also in backyards big or small. I have learned to be versatile in both and enjoy the challenge of being creative within it.
Targets used today were a cardboard hoop from used up duck tape and cardboard boxes and was really pleased with the result.
I've been building new muscle memory into my wrist and elbow with a new position which has made my shots more consistently accurate. I mentioned this in the last video I posted when I did a Robin Hood shot.

You will see in the video, the process and action I'm doing and will keep using it until the new position has been established into my usual form and technique.
Also in this session and to make it a little more challenging, I decided to continue some more practice of holding my bow up horizontally whilst nocking to increase speed.

I was starting to get into it but at the end began to wane a little :-) and lose focus. My bowhand wrist and elbow began to go back to the old habit. A good time to call it a day.

A little about me: I am a British traditional, instinctive, female archer who enjoys shooting the English Longbow. I like to explore and experiment with different styles. techniques in many positions and forms. And am always trying out as many creative ways to do so as that i can think of. I also enjoy constructing different targets using many varieties of objects, materials, etc.
I'm happily married to my husband who happens to be my cameraman and does an amazing job of capturing photos and videos of my archery shooting practice sessions. You will hear and see him from time to time.
My main shooting ground is the garden, be it the back, front, side of the yard, doesn't matter to me. Although distance of the shot can be limited, it enables me to practice in my own time and more space to experiment with my shooting training.
I hope you enjoy watching this short video of some of my favourite highlights and shots and have gained some new archery tips to help you in your own archery journey.
