Episode 4: Reading Fluency - Reader's Theatre
At Gateway, we try to use easy and engaging ways for our students to read more fluently, with expression and intonation. Reader's Theatre is one such method which gives the students an opportunity to not only read more fluently, but also enjoy the process so that it does not seem academic. By repeatedly reading aloud the lines of a play, and acting it out for added effect, the fluency builds in more naturally, as it allows them to immerse themselves into the characters and the scenes.
