Writing is cognitively very demanding and a lot of brain energy is needed for it. Movement with the body is very alerting to the brain and sets the tone before the writing task is presented. With simple movement activities embedded in the writing class, we also see an increase in engagement levels, lesser anxiety and greater flexibility of motor skills. Additionally, the correct posture and seating accommodations allow the bigger muscle group to work more efficiently, while modified pencils and grippers give more control over the smaller muscles.
