Octatrack: Ambient Resampling Arrangement Walkthrough
a more detailed look at putting together a simple 'audio re-sampling arrangement' using the Elektron Octatrack and its recorder trig features. This is a follow-up from the ambient arrangement I put together as a demonstration of the methods and techniques - • Ambient Re-sampling (w/ explanation) ... - which I originally utilized to have the Machinedrum UW remix itself - • Re-sampling Atmospherics | Elektron M... - It's a pretty basic idea, the complexity happens in the execution - many sound design and composition opportunities present themselves while using this audio re-sampling technique. It's definitely an interesting method for composition and sound design!
amusingly at one point in this walkthrough I assume the tempo of the sample I'm using is 106 - no, it's just that those samples came from a Juno-106! duh! I tapped it out later and the sample is pretty close to 106 bpm but it's a little bit faster, maybe about 110bpm.
the main tutorial part of this video happens in the first 15 minutes or so, and then it's just me messing around - unfortunately my camera memory card ran out so I just have the audio, but it's just typical Octatrack operations, mostly just tweaking FX and other parameters, nothing fancy going on
