This grinder is powerful. Unfortunately, this grinder only has one operating mode.
But there are times when you need to work carefully, slowly.
I would like to be able to work at a lower belt speed, at lower engine speeds.
With the help of a frequency changer you can smoothly change the speed over a wide range.

I already have extensive experience using frequency generators with lathes (MH-80, TVSh-2, Shaublin-90) and with milling machines (WMD-25 and Shaublin).
I was convinced that a smooth change in speed is very convenient; I like working with frequency drivers.
Therefore, I decided to connect the electric motor of the “Udachny” grinder also through a frequency converter.
The motor is asynchronous, with a capacitor connection.
This connection has two disadvantages.
Firstly, it does not provide a smooth start. And secondly, with such a connection, up to 50% of the engine power is lost.
I rewired it, turned off the capacitor and the switch.
I connected the three existing wires to a three-phase plug.
I connected the electric motor with a plug to the frequency converter.
To connect the motor to the frequency converter, I use a grounded plug and socket.
I checked the operation of the grinder through a frequency generator at frequencies from 5 to 100 Hz, first without an abrasive tape, and then with a tape.
I tried to work with both wood and metal.
At low speeds it is more convenient to remove burrs and make small chamfers. And the grinder works quietly.
Thus, it has become more convenient to work on the grinder through the frequency generator. You can smoothly change the speed and use the required speed for each type of work.
And the start of the electric motor is now smooth, I adjust the start time with the frequency control - 3 seconds.
The grinder can be plugged into a regular 220 V socket using a grounding plug and without a frequency switch.
