Testing metal hardness using the Rockwell method involves determining the difference in the depth of penetration of a special tip into the metal - in the form of a diamond cone or ball - under the influence of two loads: preliminary and final.

It is shown how hardness is measured. The device is equipped with a diamond cone with an apex angle of 120°.
The design of the device allows you to obtain the HRC hardness value directly on the device dial. This is the advantage of this method compared to other methods: Brinell and Vickers.
